Terms of service
These terms apply to every session, alteration, order and commission taken through this site. They exist so that both sides know what was agreed before any cloth is cut.
1. Sessions and appointments
Sessions are booked as thirty minutes or one hour. The session fee is paid when you book, and it holds that time on the calendar. If a session runs past the length you booked, the extra time is billed in half-hour blocks at the rate shown on the booking page; you will always be told before the booked time runs out, and you may end the session instead. The session fee comes off any order placed within thirty days.
2. Changes and cancellations
Move or cancel a session at least twenty-four hours ahead and the fee is refunded in full or carried to a new date. Inside twenty-four hours, or if nobody arrives, the fee is kept, because the time cannot be given to anyone else at that notice.
3. Prices
Prices published on this site are fixed and are not negotiated. They include the cost of cloth at the rates in effect when they were set. A written estimate is valid for thirty days. If the work you ask for changes after an estimate is given, a new estimate is issued before the work continues. The price never changes without you seeing it first.
4. Deposits and payment
Custom pieces and made-to-measure orders take a deposit of half the total before work begins; that deposit reserves the cloth and the dates, and it is not refundable once cutting has started. The balance is due when the piece is collected. Alterations are paid on collection, once you have checked the fit. Ready-made pieces bought as cut are paid in full.
5. Timing
Turnaround times shown on the alterations list are the normal case, not a guarantee. If something will be late you will hear about it before the date, not after. Rush service is available for an extra charge and moves your garment to the front of the queue.
6. Fittings and fit
Custom pieces include two fittings. Further fittings are booked as sessions. Every alteration is guaranteed for thirty days: if the work does not sit as agreed, bring the garment back and it is corrected at no charge. This does not cover a change of mind about the design, or a change in the body it was fitted to.
7. Garments you leave with us
Garments left for alteration are held at your risk and should be collected within sixty days of the work being finished. Daysi will remind you before that date. Some fabrics, finishes and prior repairs cannot be altered safely; if that is the case you will be told before anything is started, and you may take the garment back with nothing owed.
8. Designs and photographs
Original designs, patterns, sketches and prints made by Daysi Collection Inc. remain hers. A commission gives you the garment, not the right to reproduce the design. Photographs of finished work may be used to show the work, unless you ask in writing that yours are not. Just say so, and they will not be.
9. Your information
What you send through this site goes to Daysi and to nobody else. See the privacy notice for what is kept and for how long.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York. Nothing here removes any right you have under consumer protection law.
